PLAYBOY'S MISS 1992 STEPHANIE ADAMS FIGHTS BACK

A taxi driver accused of telling police that a former Playboy Playmate Stephanie Adams had a gun and threatened to kill him in a dispute over a $9 fare has lost his license. Good! Eric Darko's taxi license was revoked Wednesday by the Taxi & Limousine Commission, which regulates the city's taxis. The TLC said a judge determined Darko, who also was fined $3,700, had violated taxi rules relating to passenger refusal, harassment, physical abuse and misrepresentation. Adams, the first openly gay Playmate, says in a lawsuit naming Darko, the city and police that Darko told the responding officers incorrectly that she had a gun and threatened to kill him. She says police pointed guns at her, leered at her and roughed her up while restraining her. "It was a nightmare," Adams, 35, said at a Sept. 22 news conference announcing her lawsuit, which seeks $5 million in damages.
I used to hang out with Stephanie, and I am glad she is fighting back against the cops and the taxi driver. The taxi drivers in this city are out of control and the TLC can not enforce the rules against the drivers. I myself, have been cursed at, threatened and harassed by our nasty NYC Taxi drivers and I think it's time to form a new agency that can enforce the laws and get rid of the TLC. I have logged 100s of complaints with the TLC about taxi's parked in no standing zones, creating havoc on West 43rd street, with fire trucks and ambulances blocked from going down the street because the taxi drivers refuse to move. They park there waiting for a airport fare from the Westin Hotel, knowing what they are doing is against the rules and meanwhile creating a dangerous problem, because the emergency trucks can't get down the street. The TLC has been asked many times by me to just send a inspector and watch for themselves, and they refuse. Something will happen one day and I'll be the first one to say 'I told you so".
