The Odescalchi Castle, a romantic, 15th-century castle, with its halls, gardens, and even a chapel nearby, can host up to 1,400 guests. The small Italian lake town of Bracciano is at the centre of rumors that it is to be the location for the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Likely backdrops for the couple's wedding, which will take place at an undisclosed Italian location on November 18, have been floating around for days, but now appear to have narrowed down to the Odescalchi Castle on Lake Bracciano, 25 miles (40 kilometres) to the northwest of Rome. The romantic, 15th-century castle, with its halls, gardens, and even a chapel nearby, can host up to 1,400 guests. As international media began gathering in the quiet town on Friday, local officials and residents remained tightlipped. "The only thing we have received in the past days is a request to clear the square in front of the castle," Bracciano Mayor Patrizia Riccioni told Associated Press Television News. "It is a hint, not evidence," she said with a smile. As of midday Friday, a red truck from Santa Ana, California-based logistic company GeoLogistics was regularly coming in and out of Odescalchi Castle. Many of Bracciano's residents say they are excited that their quiet lakeside town could be hosting the wedding of Hollywood's most high-profile betrothed couple. Although some say they're worried about parking and possible disruption to everyday activities, most say they would welcome the wedding for the excitement it would provide and the chance it offers to promote the town's image around the world. "I'm happy! Some people say they don't care, but I don't agree. I think that, in any case, it will make Bracciano a well known place even abroad," said one woman. Holmes, 27, and Cruise, 44, became engaged in June 2005.
