UMA THURMAN TRAPPED IN ELEVATOR

Uma Thurman had to be rescued after getting stuck in a lift. The actress, who is currently filming 'The Accidental Husband', suffered her own mishap when she became trapped in a New York elevator after trying to fit too many people inside. A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Uma was running late the other afternoon. She stuffed eight people into an elevator built for four in a Manhattan building. Uma was trapped for more than 20 minutes."Luckily, her bodyguard Leonard Taylor rescued her. He pulled the elevator door open with one arm and used his belt as a pulley with his other arm."The 'Kill Bill' actress plays a radio host, Emma Lloyd, who advises a listener to break up with her boyfriend, a New York fireman, in the new romantic comedy. The fireman - played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan - then tries to take his revenge by wrecking Emma's personal life.Uma begged Hollywood bosses not to write her off earlier this year. The 36-year-old, who claims Tinseltown has a habit of putting female stars out to pasture as they advance in years, insists she is getting better with age.She said: "Theoretically, athletes run more slowly as they get older. But actors get better. They may be less attractive but, professionally, they grow richer and deeper."
