STING AND 'THE POLICE' IN TALKS

The Police are to Peform for their first tour in 20 years. Sting - the former lead singer of the legendary band - confirmed he is in talks with drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers about a reunion. He said: "We started 30 years ago, so it would be nice to do something to celebrate. We don't quite know what, but we're talking about it."Sting quit the hugely successful band in 1984 to launch a solo career but insists he is proud to be known as a member of The Police. He added: "I'm very proud of the band. I left because I felt I wanted to grow as a musician, to mature as a musician and to try to do more things than a band is able to do."Since their break-up, the group - famous for hits like 'Roxanne' and 'Message In A Bottle' - have only played together twice. Once at their induction into America's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and again at Sting's wedding to wife Trudie Styler in 1992.
