Rapper Eve has been arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence after crashing her car.The rapper and actress - who starred in 'XXX' alongside Vin Diesel - narrowly escaped death after she drove her gold Maserati into the central reservation on Hollywood Boulevard at around 2.45am yesterday. The star - full name Eve Jeffers - was handcuffed by police and taken in a squad car to the Los Angeles County Jail. A witness said: "She was visibly upset. The car was totalled."There were reportedly two passengers in the vehicle at the time. In a bizarre twist, Eve was visited in jail by Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn, who was seen leaving the police station in a taxi at 4am. A police source told gossip website TMZ.com: "He came to see how Eve was doing."It is not known if Penn had been out with Eve earlier that night.The Grammy-award winning artist - who has her own self-titled sitcom - was later released on bail and picked up in another Maserati.

PUNK ICON DON BOLLES ARRESTED

Punk icon Don Bolles is struggling to clear his name after being arrested with what police are convinced is date-rape drug GHB. The former drummer for The Germs, real name Jimmy Michael Giorsetti, was pulled over in Newport Beach, Calif., for driving with a broken taillight last week, and police searching his van found a bottle of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap. A field test of the liquid indicated it contained GHB and Bolles was arrested on suspicion of felony narcotics possession. He spent a night in a local police cell and then was transferred to two county jails before his release on Sunday. Bolles maintains his innocence, insisting he has been using the Magic Soap for over 30 years. He tells the Los Angeles, "A date-rape drug is the last thing I need. If anything, I need a way to keep the girls off of me. They make my girlfriend mad." As he prepares to defend himself, the one-time heroin addict has won the support of the manufacturers of his favorite liquid soap. Dr. Bronner's company President David Bronner has agreed to pay for Bolles' legal costs, stating, "The field test must have been flawed or tampered with." Bronner admits police field tests of Magic Soap have occasionally indicated THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, because the soap includes hemp oil. But the GHB findings are "beyond belief."

THUG SNOOP DOGG CHARGED WITH FELONY

Rapper Snoop Dogg was charged on Tuesday with sale or transportation of marijuana and possession of a gun by a convicted felon, a case that stems from his October arrest at a Los Angeles airport.The 35-year-old performer, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, could face up to four years in state prison if he is convicted on both charges. He is due in court on Wednesday. Broadus was arrested on October 25 after police at Burbank Airport, near Los Angeles, stopped him for leaving his car too long in a passenger loading area and found a gun and marijuana in his car. Prosecutors said they were unable to prove that the gun found in Broadus' car that day belonged to him, but that a later search of the performer's home turned up another firearm.He is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm because of his 1990 felony conviction for possession of drugs for sale. In November, Broadus was charged with possession of a deadly weapon after police found him carrying a collapsible baton through security at Orange County's John Wayne Airport. And in March, Stockholm police arrested Broadus for suspected narcotics use.

The founder of the Girls Gone Wild video empire surrendered to federal marshals early Tuesday on contempt of court charges. Joe Francis, 34, was booked into the Bay County Jail later Tuesday, said Ruth Sasser, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's office."His attorneys continue to work toward a settlement," Kevin Mercuri, a spokesman for Francis, said in a statement e-mailed to The Associated Press. Francis makes an estimated $29 million a year through the videos of girls baring their breasts and in other sexually provocative situations. He surrendered to marshals in Panama City. He drew the contempt order during negotiations in a federal civil lawsuit brought by seven women who were underaged when they were filmed by his company on Panama City Beach during spring break in 2003. Lawyers for the women told U.S. District Judge Richard Smoak that Francis became enraged in the settlement talks, shouting obscenities at the lawyers and threatening to "bury them."Smoak ordered Francis to settle the case or go to jail for his behavior. Negotiations continued with the help of a mediator, but broke down Thursday and Smoak issued the arrest warrant. Francis had been a fugitive since. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta has denied an emergency motion from Francis asking that he be allowed to remain free pending an appeal of Smoak's order. Francis lashed out at Smoak on Thursday, calling him "a judge gone wild" and saying that the judge "had lost his mind."Francis said the women wanted $70 million in their civil suit and that he had countered with "an extraordinary amount of money.""It was to the point where the was girls would never have to work again as long as they live," he said. Francis also said he would settle the case to avoid jail time."I'll give up a billion dollars, but it will be under duress," he said, arguing any money given would be voided in an appeal.

Campaigning actor Martin Sheen has been arrested an astonishing 65 times in the last 20 years. On Sunday, the veteran actor received a police citation for trespassing on a Nevada nuclear test site. Sheen has fond memories of his first arrest,when he protested former President Ronald Reagan's nuclear initiative. He tells the British movie magazine Empire, "We placed our bodies at the doors so the employees on the project couldn't get through and I remember being terribly frightened by what was going to happen. "I remember (protest organizer) Father Bergin offering the New York Police the chance to come with us in our protest and they said 'no. You have three minutes to get out of here,' and I thought 'Gee, what's coming down now?'" The actor -- who played the role of U.S. President in the hit show "The West Wing" -- claims he has never been sentenced to more than a little time in jail and some personal humiliation.

FORMER FAMILY TIES STAR ARRESTED

Former child actor Brian Bonsall, who played Andy Keaton on Family Ties, was being held in a Boulder, Colo., jail Friday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, the Associated Press reports. Bonsall, 25, was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree assault and false imprisonment, according to the Associated Press. Bonsall's girlfriend told officers he poured an alcoholic drink on her face as she slept, put her in a chokehold and threw her onto a bed. Bonsall told police he acted in self-defense when she cut his arm and face with a steak knife, which she denied.

Black Eyed Peas star Taboo has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving following a collision Tuesday morning. The 31-year-old singer, real name Jaime Luis Gomez, was taken into custody after he was involved in a car accident in Industry, Calif. He was released later in the day after being cited for possession of marijuana, possession of a prescribed medication without a prescription and driving under the influence. The arrest comes two weeks after bandmate Fergie, real name Stacy Ferguson, was reportedly banned from boarding a flight from Los Angeles to the UK because she was deemed "too drunk to travel."

LAGUNA BEACH'S JESSICA SMITH'S DUI

TV actress Jessica Smith found herself in a county lockup this week after an arrest for driving under the influence on a California freeway. The 19-year-old former star of "Laguna Beach" was arrested Monday near Laguna, Calif., on a felony DUI charge by the California Highway Patrol and booked into the Orange County jail, People magazine reported Tuesday. Smith allegedly was driving a Volkswagen with one other person inside when the car rear-ended another car. According to a highway patrol statement, the accident was due to Smith's "level of intoxication, unsafe speed and wet roadway conditions," the magazine said. Smith was not hurt but her passenger and the driver of the second car suffered minor injuries.

Fashion designer Anand Jon was charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault involving three alleged victims, Los Angeles County prosecutors said.
Jane Robison, a Los Angeles County district attorney's office spokeswoman, said Jon was charged with six felonies and a misdemeanor for the alleged sexual assaults occurring between October 2004 and March 5, The Los Angeles Times said Wednesday. Beverly Hills, Calif., police on March 6 arrested Jon, who is being held in lieu of $1.3 million bail. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on the New York-based designer, a superstar in his native India.
Jon's attorney, Ronald Richards, said the allegations were made up by models who thought they weren't getting the work they expected. "(What) is going on here is these girls fly in for model jobs after months of dialogue filled with flirtation, they have sexual interaction and if he doesn't put them in the show ... then some time later they claim they had unwanted sex," Richards said. Prosecutors alleged that in October 2004, Jon raped a woman and that this year he committed lewd acts with a 15-year-old. The investigation began after a third woman reported being raped.

Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, was "deemed to be under the influence of narcotics." He was subsequently arrested together with his "female companion.""He is said to have behaved appropriately. Now the prosecutor can proceed with this. It's usually a fine," a police spokesman said to UPI. The fine for a minor offense is reportedly usually based on an individual's earnings."He underwent some tests that will now be sent away for analysis," said police spokesman Matts Brannlund to AP. "In two to three weeks, we'll know if he was on something." Snoop Dogg was released shortly after 5 a.m. but could face a fine if his drug test comes back positive, Brannlund said. Security personnel discovered the baton in his bag as he went through a security checkpoint at John Wayne International Airport in Orange County, California on September 27. Snoopy has a dark history of violence in airports. In May 2006, Snoop Dogg and five members of his entourage spent the night in a London prison after a fight in the Heathrow British Airways business lounge left seven police officers injured. The Snoop Dogg group started the fight after they were barred from entering the lounge. The rapper has now been banned from travelling with BA. Snoop was also banned from entering the UK ever again. According to reports, he has now been told his criminal record in his native America - which includes drug and gun offences - bars him from returning to Britain. Snoop was a member of a local Crips gang in Long Beach, the Rollin' 20 Crips. Goldie Loc of Tha Eastsidaz is also a former member of this gang, as are Warren G and Nate Dogg. Convicted for a 1990 cocaine trafficking arrest, he is forbidden from possessing firearms for the rest of his life. The Los Angeles District Attorney's office also is considering whether to file charges against him for two arrests involving weapons and drugs: Broadus was arrested Oct. 26 at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank for investigation of being a felon in possession of a gun and transportation of marijuana. AMERICAN IDOL STAR KELLIE PICKLER'S FATHER ARRESTED AGAIN AND IN JAIL

The father of American Idol star and North Carolina native Kellie Pickler was back in jail Friday. He was released from a Florida prison last year after serving a three-year sentence for stabbing his neighbor. This time he’s in jail in North Carolina, but the charges are similar to those he faced last year. The arrest warrant filed against Mr. Pickler by his own wife. The statements she claims he made and the actions she claims he took were enough for sheriff’s deputies to make an arrest early Wednesday morning. Clyde Pickler Jr., 42, is in the Stanley County jail under a $20,000 bond. According to the Stanly County Sheriff Rick Burris, Pickler faces multiple charges, including “assault on a female communicating threats and assault with a deadly weapon; he was arrested without incident.” Clyde Pickler’s next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 28. His daughter Kellie is moving on with her signing career, and so far she isn’t commenting on her father’s latest arrest.

Rapper Foxy Brown spent a night in jail after police said she threw hair glue at a beauty shop employee and later swatted an officer, her second legal problem stemming from a salon scuffle. The 27-year-old left jail Friday afternoon after a $1,500 bond was posted for her, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said. She was charged with battery and resisting an officer with violence. Brown's lawyer, New York state Sen. John Sampson, did not return a phone call seeking comment Friday. It was not immediately clear how Thursday's arrest would affect her sentence of three years' probation and anger management classes for attacking a pair of manicurists in New York City in 2004. The argument was about payment for a manicure at Bloomie Nails in Manhattan's Chelsea area. According to the Florida arrest report, Brown was applying beauty products in the bathroom when a Queen Beauty Supply employee told her the business was closed and it was time to leave. She refused and threw hair glue at the employee, the report said. Brown then spat on the man as he called police, staining his shirt. A police officer found her in the shopping plaza, and tried to get her to return to the store. When the officer placed a hand on her arm to escort her to the store, Brown swatted it away, then started swinging her arms and struggling with the officer, the report said. The officer had to "use a takedown maneuver to gain control" of Brown, according to the report. No on was injured. Brown's real name is Inga Marchand. Her albums include "Ill Na Na" and "Chyna Doll" and she is known for her sexy outfits and racy lyrics. In December 2005, Brown's lawyer announced the rap artist was almost completely deaf. She was undergoing treatment.

WARRANT ISSUED FOR DANIEL BALDWIN

A warrant for the arrest of actor Daniel Baldwin has been issued after he failed to show up in court Tuesday morning to face grand theft auto charges. Baldwin was scheduled to appear in Orange County Superior Court to answer charges he stole a vehicle last November and drove it to Santa Monica, Calif. The Orange County District Attorney filed charges of unlawful taking of a vehicle and receiving stolen property. Baldwin was supposed to appear for his arraignment but failed to show. Following his car theft arrest in November, police conducted a search of his motel room and allegedly found narcotics and paraphernalia. Baldwin was also booked on charges of possessing illegal drugs and released on $20,000 bail, according to TMZ.com.

LOVE STORY RYAN O'NEAL ARRESTED

Ryan O'Neal was arrested for allegedly assaulting his son, Griffin, over the weekend.The 65-year-old Oscar-winning actor was arrested at his Malibu home in the early hours of Saturday morning for assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm. Los Angeles County sheriff Lieutenant John Benedict said: "Deputies and paramedics were called to O'Neal's Malibu residence at 12.30am Saturday regarding a battery that had occurred."Deputies determined Griffin O'Neal, his son, had been assaulted by his father."Ryan was later released on bail for $50,000.The 'Love Story' star's manager, Neil Hassman, told US TV show The Insider:"He was defending himself after his son began wildly swinging a fireplace poker."It is unfortunate that what should have been an internal family disagreement was escalated to the point that Ryan felt he had to defend himself from Griffin's aggressive, extremely menacing physical behaviour."Hassman said Griffin's pregnant girlfriend suffered minor injuries during the incident, and was treated at a hospital before being released. He claimed her injuries were caused by Griffin, 42. Griffin - who has previous convictions for reckless behaviour under the influence of alcohol - could not be reached for comment. Actress Farrah Fawcett - who dated Ryan between 1980 and 1997 and has a 21-year-old son Redmond with him - celebrated her 60th birthday on Friday. The actress has recently been given the all-clear from anal cancer. She was supported throughout her ordeal by Ryan.
