Marie Osmond's 21-year marriage to producer Brian Blosil is to end in divorce. The couple has announced their official split, asking the public and the press to "respect our privacy in this matter." In a joint statement, the couple reveals there's no third party involved, and they plan on keeping all matters as amicable as possible for the sake of their eight children. The statement reads, "Though our marriage is ending, we continue to have a very amicable relationship. Our marriage has always been a faithful one and neither of us is assigning fault for the divorce. "Our children, as always, are our top priority and in our deep love for them we will continue to jointly fulfil our roles as active parents in their daily lives. Beyond this statement we will not be discussing the reasons for our divorce."Labels: BRIAN BLOSIL, DIVORCE, MARIE OSMOND

Heather Mills has had a rubber leg fitted for her performances on 'Dancing with the Stars'.The former model - who lost her left leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident - has had the prosthetic limb specially made to give her more flexibility on the US TV dance contest. After performing the jive with her new leg, judge Bruno Tonioli told her:"One, two, three legs, I don't care how many - you did a fantastic job."Meanwhile, Heather broke down on a US radio show after being praised by a caller. The estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney, who appeared as a guest on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM morning radio show, was reduced to tears after hearing the kind words. The listener, named Pat, said: "I'm ashamed that I had a judgment against you based on everything you read in the newspapers, that you were after his money, and, come on - everyone was down on Heather Mills."But you have won me over, and I can admit it, I had formed a bad opinion about you. I am embarrassed, actually. I would love to apologise. And America should apologise. People should apologise. You were wrongfully treated."Heather sobbed as she replied: "That makes me feel emotional. That's great."Heather added: "I could have gone down that path of lowering myself to everyone else's level and proven my innocence."All I did was fall in love with somebody madly, and give up my life for seven years. And then just to be vilified for it? I'm actually quite shocked. I've spent 14 years doing charity work."If I was a gold digger, I would be a very wealthy woman now. And I'm not."Labels: DANCING WITH THE STARS, DIVORCE, HEATHER MILLS, JAMES EDSTROM, PAUL MCCARTNEY

Britney Spears spent her first weekend as a new divorcee in Las Vegas, dining with close friends. The fallen pop superstar finalized her divorce from rapper Kevin Federline last week and took off to Sin City for a low-key weekend. The post-rehab Spears dined at Tao Asian Bistro on Saturday night with two female friends, and made it clear her partying days are over -- even in Las Vegas. A fellow diner who spotted the party says, "Britney was dressed casual, wearing a light coat, hat and blonde wig. She and her friends ate vegetable dumplings, hot edamame, a California roll, and they split a wasabi filet. "This wasn't a wild night out. Britney drank Pepsi and the girls were in and out in about an hour. Britney seemed very happy." Labels: BRITNEY SPEARS, DIVORCE, JAMES EDSTROM, KEVIN FEDERLINE, LAS VEGAS

Sir Paul McCartney is desperate to end his divorce battle with Heather Mills. The Beatles legend has spoken for the first time about his High Court battle with Heather, saying he wants the divorce to be finalised quickly.Paul said: "I'm hoping it'll soon be over."The 64-year-old musician insists last week's two-fingered 'victory' sign outside the court house wasn't a sign the case is going his way. Paul said: "I always do that. But that's what it's all about - peace on earth."Paul and Heather, 39, attended a private hearing last week which reportedly examined Heather's claims that Paul was physically violent towards her during their four-year marriage. The former model emerged grim faced from the London court, sparking reports her claims had been thrown out. Meanwhile, Heather returned to court yesterday for an emergency application reportedly involving the couple's three-year-old daughter Beatrice. She represented herself during the 30-minute hearing, but refused to reveal what was discussed. As she left the court, Heather snapped: "I have nothing to say. I do not talk to the press. I never have and never will."When she was pressed to comment on the emergency hearing, Heather fumed:"Are you hard of hearing? You have got ears haven't you? I have nothing to say."Labels: DIVORCE, HEATHER MILLS, JAMES EDSTROM, PAUL MCCARTNEY, SNAPS AT PRESS

Heather Mills' accusations of marital abuse were dismissed in court the other day. Heather and Sir Paul McCartney appeared at London's High Court to determine if Heather's allegations regarding Paul's aggressive behaviour could be used in the divorce battle. Last year, leaked legal papers revealed Heather had accused Paul of pushing her into a bath while pregnant, trying to choke her in 2003, pouring wine over her and stabbing her in the arm with a broken wine glass. She also claimed Paul drank and took drugs excessively during their marriage. The 64-year-old Beatles legend has always denied the allegations. Heather, 39, was seen storming from the court after a judge threw out many of the claims, while a smiling Paul emerged 20 minutes later. When asked if he had anything to say about the hearing, he said: "No, but nice of you to ask. Thank you."Heather, who is said to have rejected a $50 million offer from Paul last month, was accompanied by her solicitor Anthony Julius. The pair, who did not speak throughout the hearing, were not required to give evidence. It is not known if the custody of the couple's three-year-old daughter Beatrice was discussed at the hearing.Labels: COURT, DIVORCE, HEATHER MILLS, JAMES EDSTROM, PAUL MCCARTNEY

Britney Spears Out Of Rehab Again.... Troubled pop star Britney Spears has reportedly left a rehabilitation facility in Malibu, California, less than 24 hours after checking in. This is the second time in a week that the Toxic star has left a treatment centre after less than one day - according to news website Tmz.com , Spears left Promises Treatment Center early yesterday morning. According to further media reports, Spears tried to get into a tattoo parlour before returning to her home, but the shop was closed. On Friday, she shaved her head bald at a hair salon and then hit the Body & Soul Tattoo parlor in Sherman Oaks, California, where she got a pink, black and white cross on her hip and pink and red lips on her wrist. She checked herself into Crossroads Centre, a treatment facility founded by musician Eric Clapton last Wednesday, only to check out the following day. Meanwhile, according to Tmz, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (Dcfs) has received numerous phone calls to their hotline from people concerned about the welfare of Spears' children in light of her recent bizarre behaviour. Spears is the mother to two young sons, Sean Preston, 18 months and Jayden James, five months. The Dcfs provides a 24-hour phone number for any resident in the Los Angeles area to report or discuss any issue regarding children.Meanwhile it was revealed the Pop star met with a lawyer in West Hollywood, California yesterday afternoon, after checking out of a Malibu rehab facility earlier in the day. This is the second time the troubled 25-year-old has left a treatment centre in the last week. The Toxic star was spotted at the law office of Blair Berk, a high-powered criminal defence lawyer, who also represented Mel Gibson last year (06) after his drink driving arrest. Sources tell American publication Us Weekly Spears was seen outside the office sitting in the passenger seat of a blue Mercedes talking intensely on her mobile phone, while her cousin, Allie Sims, reportedly sobbed. An eyewitness says, "Brit smoked cigarettes and talked on the phone, while Allie was seen with tears streaming down her face. Brit just had a blank look on her face." Spears left the law office at 2pm (local time) and was driven down Los Angeles' Sunset Strip and dropped off at the Bel Air Hotel. On 15 February (07), the singer checked herself into Crossroads Centre, a treatment facility founded by musician Eric Clapton, and checked out less than 24 hours later. Yesterday (21 Feb 07) she left Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, also after less than 24 hours.

Heather Mills was devastated when animal rights group PETA dumped her without telling her.The former model was dropped by PETA earlier this month when Mary McCartney (left), the photographer daughter of Heather's estranged husband Sir Paul, threatened to stop working with them. Heather only found out about their decision when a friend told her. She said in an interview with US TV show 'Extra' : "My girlfriend called me,that's how I first heard, and said, 'I'm really, really sorry to hear the bad news.'"I was just shocked. I thought, 'Oh, God, what is this?' I felt really, really sad about it. They didn't send me a letter or call me up saying, 'We don't wish to work with you anymore.' "Mary told the organisation she would only continue working on their 'I would rather go naked that wear fur campaign' if they severed their ties with her estranged step-mother. A source said: "Mary was eager to take photographs for PETA, which she has done in the past, but wanted assurances that Heather no longer represented the group."Before Heather's split from Paul last year, the blonde regularly worked for PETA, protesting against Canadian seal culling and the fur trade. Heather, 39, even stripped off for PETA's 2007 calendar, but the photographs were dropped after her bitter divorce battle began.Labels: DIVORCE, HEATHER MILLS, MARY MCCARTNEY, PETA

Heather Mills has visited police to speak about "a number of issues". Heather, the estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney, is thought to have discussed harassment and death threats at Brighton's Hove police the other day. A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "It was a pre-planned meeting for her to discuss a number of issues. The meeting did not relate to anything specific and she was not arrested."Heather's representative Phil Hall confirmed she has been in constant talks with police over death threats received since separating from Paul, 64. Hall said: "She doesn't want to talk about it. She has been subject to death threats and there has been on going communication with Sussex Police about that. I imagine it's to do with that."Heather was accompanied by her personal trainer Ben Amigoni and her sister Fiona. Last month, Fiona made an appeal to end the "harassment" of her family and said she was "deeply concerned" for her sister's safety following "scary"death threats. In December, Heather, 38, revealed she feared for the safety of herself and her three-year-old daughter Beatrice. The former model also claimed she had little money to pay for security, and was furious that Paul refused to foot the bill.Labels: DIVORCE, HEATHER MILLS, PAUL MCCARTNEY, POLICE

Sir Paul McCartney has offered Heather Mills a $55 million divorce settlement, it has been reported. The former Beatle - worth around a Billion - instructed lawyers to make the offer following days of "intense and heightened" talks. This is said to be the first time Paul, eager to avoid a public court battle, has agreed to open negotiations. A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "This is the closest we have been to an arrangement. Paul is absolutely determined to keep his private life hidden from public scrutiny."The divorce has now been dragging on for nine months. There is war weariness creeping in. Lawyers have been in feverish discussions for the past ten days, but isn't simply a matter of him making an offer and it being accepted."Paul, 64, reportedly sanctioned the offer after Heather's sister Fiona accused him of putting his three-year-old daughter Beatrice at risk by refusing to pay for security for Heather. The source added: "They are almost there. The channels of communication have opened up. It's the first time a deal has been mentioned and both sides hope a settlement will be reached."Unless there is a major hiccup, they will not be going to court."Terms will be drawn up by Anthony Julius and Fiona Shackleton - the same lawyers who dealt with Prince Charles and Princess Diana's divorce - and they are hoping to settle the deal within a month. Julius - Heather's lawyer - and Paul's representative have so far declined to comment. Last month, it was reported Heather and Paul - who were married for four years - had reached an out of court settlement worth $64 million. However, legal firm Mishcon de Reya, who represent Heather, quickly issued a statement denying Paul had made an offer.Labels: BEATLES, DIVORCE, HEATHER MILLS, PAUL MCCARTNEY
