Pamela Anderson has vowed to return to a Russian orphanage after falling "in love" with the children.The actress - who was in Russia to co-host the MTV Russia Film Awards last week - said visiting the "inspiring" orphans was the highlight of the trip and really "opened her eyes".The former 'Baywatch' star wrote on her official website www.pamelaanderson.com: "I especially loved visiting an orphanage outside of Moscow. It was really eye opening - sad but inspiring to see these kids happy despite having nothing - really nothing, including parents."I'm going back to visit - I'm in love with them and their spirits."The 39-year-old - who has two sons, Brandon, 10, and Dylan, nine - also spent time learning about the Russian adoption system. She noted: "It's very difficult to adopt from Russia unless you are Russian or living in Russia. It's not common in their culture, and they do not have a foster care system". Pamela was touched by the orphans' "heart-wrenching" stories and is hopeful for their future. She added: "Their stories are heart-wrenching, but when you put your arms around these kids and kiss them - play games with them and listen to them sing and laugh - it really makes you reach inside - know how blessed we are - and know how much of a blessing it is that we can brighten a child's day."I have hope for them, they will survive, and I hope as this transition still occurs throughout Russia that they are given a chance."

ANGELINA JOLIE TO CHANGE PAX THIEN

Angelina Jolie has made a formal court request to change adopted son Pax Thien's surname to Jolie-Pitt. Angelina filed the request for her son, who is currently called Pax Thien Jolie, to take lover Brad Pitt's surname at a Santa Monica Superior Court on April 16. Angelina adopted three-year-old Pax - whose name means 'Peaceful Sky' - in March from a Vietnamese Orphanage she had visited with Brad several times before. Vietnamese law makes it hard for unmarried couples to adopt, so the actress applied as a single parent. In January 2006, Angelina made a similar request to add Brad's name to her five-year-old Cambodian son Maddox and two-year-old Ethiopian daughter Zahara. Brad is now joint guardian to Maddox and Zahara and the couple also have an 11-month-old daughter Shiloh together.

O'Donnell, 45, said she and the Walt Disney Co.-owned network failed to come to terms on a contract renewal deal, but she would return to the show next season for special segments and as a recurring guest host. She said one unresolved issue in her talks with ABC had been the length of her contract, with the network seeking a three-year extension while she held out for just one year."It just didn't work, and that's showbiz. But it's not sad, because I've loved it here, and I love you guys, and I'm not going away. I'm just not going to be here everyday," O'Donnell said on the show, drawing applause. Keith Richards' mother has died. Doris Richards peacefully passed away on Saturday night aged 91 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith, 63, had been keeping a bedside vigil at the clinic in London's Harley Street where she was treated before her death.The band's spokesman Bernard Doherty said: "Doris Richards, aged 91, mother of Rolling Stone Keith Richards, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday 21 April 2007."Family and friends request that their privacy is respected at this time."Doris separated from Keith's father Bert - who passed away in 2002 aged 84 -in 1962. Before her death she had been living with the rocker's stepfather William in Kent. Doris was responsible for buying her son his first guitar on his 15th birthday, setting him on the path to rock 'n' roll success. Her father, Gus Dupree, toured the UK as a jazz musician and gave grandson Keith his earliest guitar lessons. Earlier this month, Keith caused outrage after claiming he had snorted his dead dad's ashes mixed in with a line of cocaine. He said: "I snorted my father. He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared, he didn't give a s**t."The wild musician, who is famed for his drug use, has since retracted the statement insisting he only meant it as a joke.

ROLLING STONES WANT HORSES DRUGGED

The Rolling Stones have sparked outrage over suggestions 300 horses should be drugged when they play their first Serbian concert.The legendary band are to perform at Belgrade's hippodrome race course in July to a crowd of around 100,000 people. However, fears are mounting for the horses who are stabled just a few yards from the venue and it has been suggested that sedative shots be administered to keep them calm during the raucous show. Jovanka Prelic, who cares for the equine residents, said: "Horses differ,the same as people. Some are more nervous, more skittish. If they get toonervous or start to panic during the concert, they'll get sedatives."The sedative could be diazepam, which was commonly used on horses during the 1999 Nato air strikes. Plans to calm the horses down have sparked fury in Serbia, with animal rights group Orca demanding the concert be moved to another venue. Head of Orca Elvir Burazerovic said: "Research has shown that noise and vibrations are the strongest causes of stress to animals. Surely our big city has enough open spaces where even 150,000 people can fit in. We think the hippodrome should be left to horses."Burazerovic also said if the organisers don't change the venue, the group will write directly to the band to ask them to switch. Burazerovic said: "I believe we will succeed, since such a reputable band will not allow such a stain on its record."

AUCTION AT NEW YORKS HARD ROCK CAFE NETS $2.4 MILLION TO HURRICANE VICTIMS

A fundraising auction of music memorabilia from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Edge, Bono and Paul McCartney smashed pre-sale expectations and brought in $2.4 million, a portion of which will go to a charity that replaces musical equipment lost or destroyed by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. "It was the best sale we've ever done," said Darren Julien, president and CEO of Julien's Auctions, which ran the event benefiting Music Rising. The event on Saturday night at the Hard Rock Cafe was so popular, Julien said, that bidding went on for three hours after it had been supposed to stop. Music Rising was co-founded by The Edge, the U2 guitarist who donated his favorite instrument, a 1975 Gibson Les Paul that he has played on for years. Pre-sale estimates put the guitar at $60,000 to $80,000—it sold for $288,000, including the commission. Other highlights included a guitar owned by Jimi Hendrix that went for $480,000; a pair of sunglasses donated by Bono that went for $24,000; a guitar from Bob Dylan that sold for $192,000 and a guitar from Paul McCartney that brought in $81,600. Julien said the entire auction slate, 204 items, was sold. For some items, the total selling price was going to Music Rising, while other items were giving a portion of the proceeds. The final amount going to the charity had not been tallied yet, he said.

She then asked for a 15-minute film to be made of the little girl, who has no relatives and has been living at the orphanage since she was three months old. She has allegedly met with 10 other children, on the request of the Malawian authorities. A source said: "Grace may not be the child Madonna adopts though she certainly is a favourite. Madonna is considering other children."Madonna's representatives have repeatedly denied the star is in Malawi to adopt again, insisting she is only in the country to do charity work. Alec Baldwin issued an apology for unleashing a volcanic tirade at his 11-year-old daughter and blamed "certain people" for leaking the rant to US media. The Oscar-nominated star of The Departed branded daughter Ireland a "rude, thoughtless, little pig" in a fiery voicemail message that emerged on celebrity websites. It is the latest twist to the bitter legal wrangling between Baldwin and ex-wife Kim Basinger over custody and visitation rights relating to Ireland. The couple split in 2001. Baldwin's tirade was apparently triggered by Ireland's failure to switch her mobile phone on for a scheduled call with her father. "Once again I've made an ass out of myself trying to get to a phone at a specific time," Baldwin says in the message. "I'm tired of playing this game with you. You have insulted me for the last time. "You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being - I don't give a damn that you are 12 or 11 or a child or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care what you do." Baldwin then tells his daughter that he is going to fly to Los Angeles to "straighten" her out. In a statement on his website, alecbaldwin.com, posted today, the actor said he had apologised to his daughter for his actions, suggesting that the stress of legal battles with Basinger had tipped him over the edge. "Naturally, it is not best for a parent to lose their temper with their child," Baldwin said. "Everyone who knows me privately knows that I have endured a great deal over the last several years in my custody litigation. "Everyone who knows me privately knows that certain people will go to any lengths to embarrass me and to disrupt my relationship with my daughter. "I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now." Baldwin's spokesman said in an earlier statement that "in the best interest of the child" the actor would "do what the mother is pathologically incapable of doing - keeping his mouth shut and obeying the court order." The statement said Basinger and her lawyer leaked the tape in violation of a court order, and that Baldwin regretted the choice of language used. Basinger's lawyers hit back at the spokesman's explanation today. In a statement to TMZ.com, celebrity lawyer Neal Hersh said the actor's response showed he was "out of touch". "I am concerned that Mr Baldwin's recent statement, wherein he attempts to shift responsibility to Kim and her lawyers for his issues with Ireland, shows just how out of touch he is with the reality and gravity of the situation," Hersh told the website. Baldwin and Basinger, the star of LA Confidential, split in 2001 but have been locked in bitter legal wrangling related to Ireland's custody and visitation rights. Basinger was charged with contempt of court last year for violating a 2004 custody arrangement. A Los Angeles court rejected a bid by Basinger's lawyers to have the charges dismissed this week.

Paris Hilton has been ordered to appear in court on May 4 for allegedly violating her probation.The hotel heiress pleaded no contest to reckless driving in January and was placed on 36 months probation and ordered to pay fines. But in March she was stopped by police for driving in West Hollywood without her headlights on and was found to be driving with a suspended driver'slicence. If found guilty of violating her probation order, she faces up to 90 days in jail and the 26-year-old must appear in court to defend herself. Meanwhile, a laundry basket, which allegedly belonged to Paris, has been put up for sale on internet auction site eBay. Excellent condition."No DNA found inside but maybe you have a better investigator."When questioned about the sale Paris' representative Elliot Mintz said: "I just cannot think of a single thing to say."The starting bid is set at $50. Britney could face legal repercussions if she has fired Rudolph as she reportedly signed a lengthy deal with him after rehiring him to help with her pop comeback. Britney recently rehired PR guru Leslie Sloane Zelnik - who also represents Lindsay Lohan - to help restore her battered image.The 'Toxic' singer has been busy working on her comeback album since leaving Malibu's Promises centre last month. Jennifer Lynn Lopez, one of the richest Hispanic's in Hollywood according to Forbes magazine, and her husband Marc Anthony are suing the National Enquirer seeking "substantial damages" for a story which alleged the couple were linked to a drug scandal.They hired a Belfast-based lawyer Paul Tweed, a special lible lawyer, who told Reuters he had filed a lawsuit with the Belfast High Court on Tuesday, announcing they "will now make similar applications in Dublin, London and other jurisdictions." Paul Tweed said the Enquirer story was "totally unfounded.""It's virtually impossible to sue for libel in the United States because of First Amendment protections," Tweed explained to the Reuters news agency. "But these publications are now appearing in Ireland, the UK and France, and on the internet, and they're now subject to the libel laws of these jurisdictions." The article at question was published last month under the headline: "Jennifer and Marc Caught Up In Heroin Scandal". The March 12 article also reprinted a 2004 picture of Anthony standing beside photographer Michael Star, who is facing charges of heroin possession and child pornography in the U.S. Tweed told AP that actress-singer Lopez, 38, and singer Anthony, 37, were seeking "a six-figure settlement" from the Enquirer, based in Boca Raton, Fla., and its parent company, American Media Inc. A spokesman for AMI, Richie Valvo, said the company had no comment. "It would be our policy to not comment on it at this time, Valvo said. Lopez and Anthony married in a quiet home wedding on June 5, 2004, where guests had reportedly been invited to an "afternoon party" at Lopez's house and were not aware that they were actually going to the couple's wedding.

MADONNA'S VISIT TO ORPHANAGE CAUSES UPROAR AS REPORTERS GET STONED

Witnesses in Malawi say orphans threw stones at journalists who tried to follow American pop star Madonna into their orphanage Tuesday. Reports from the Malawian village of Mchinji say the orphans and police had formed a protective ring around the building ahead of Madonna's arrival. There were no reports of injuries from the incident. The disturbance apparently subsided after Madonna made a brief statement to the reporters. The pop star was visiting the orphanage with one-year-old David Banda, the Malawian boy she hopes to adopt. Madonna was expected to meet the boy's biological father during her visit to Malawi, but it is not clear whether that has occurred. Madonna caused controversy when she took the boy home to London after a trip to Malawi last year. Local groups have accused the superstar of using her celebrity status to bypass laws about foreigners adopting children from Malawi. Madonna was eventually granted interim custody of the boy, subject to monitoring by human rights groups.
A spokeswoman for Madonna has denied rumors the singer plans to adopt another child while in Malawi.

The books have sold 325 million copies worldwide, while the four films have earned $4 billion. Rowling has gone from being an unpublished struggling writer to a global household name and is now ranked among the richest women on Forbes' magazine's rich list, worth an estimated $1 billion. Gillian Anderson claims she was forced to appear in 'The X-Files' against her will. The flame-haired actress claims she didn't enjoying starring in the show that catapulted her to fame and only stayed on the series for nine years because she had to. Gillian - who played Special Agent Scully in the show - told Stella magazine: "I couldn't get out of it. I didn't have a choice. I had to sign a contract for five-and-a-half-years before I even went to my first audition - when I didn't know if I'd got the part. Back then I was all innocent and I thought, 'Wow that sounds wonderful.' "But then, when I started, I realised I'd be in a Canadian wood working 16 hours a day for nine months a year. And the reason I stayed so long was because the only way I could get more money was to commit myself to doing it for another couple of years." When asked if they would be camping on site at the festival, lead singer Alex Turner told Radio 1: "We're going to stay in a wigwam. Maybe we could do the concert from there." The band also revealed they would love to work with Amy Winehouse and are hoping to perform live with her this year.Alex said: "We really like her and her work and we would love to perform with her."We here she is going to be playing at the same concert in Manchester as us. Her two personal diaries that most would think were worth big bucks, in Texas on Saturday. The journals, written in the early ’90s, initially had at least two bidders before Smith’s former partner, Howard K. Stern claimed they were stolen and should be returned to her estate. "Make no mistake: these items were stolen from Ms. Smith by one or more thieves," attorney, L. Lin Wood, wrote in a letter to Doug Norwine, the director of music and entertainment memorabilia at Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas on Wednesday, TMZ.com reported. "Ms. Smith's Estate intends to vigorously pursue the return of the diaries, will take whatever means necessary to secure their return, and will hold to account those persons and entities that have profited through their reprehensible acts at the expense of the Estate." "On behalf of the estate, Mr. Stern hereby requests that the diaries be returned to him immediately," the letter added. TMZ also reported that the man claiming to be original owner of the diaries, denied Wood’s claims, saying that "the facts he mentions in the letter are FALSE -- these diaries are NOT stolen, (They were obtained BEFORE her death) -- he is just trying to steal more money in the name of Anna Nicole." The auction house said yesterday the journals, which contain entries about Smith’s weight problems and issues regarding her personal life, are now available for a minimum bid of $25,000 each. “We have a buy-it-now situation,” said Norwine but added the bidders just “got cold feet” following Stern’s public claim. The auction house reportedly got the journals among other items from an anonymous German businessman who purchased the items on eBay for more than $500,000 several weeks ago. The German businessman decided to auction the diaries after securing the publishing rights, Norwine said. The two personal diaries were supposedly written between 1992 and 1994 and provide details regarding Smith’s feelings for her late husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II. Along with the journals, the auction house also obtained a $16,954.66 receipt from a Bloomingdale's shopping spree in 1992, a signed bank check from Smith and her 1994 Texas photo ID card. "In the absence of a judge stopping this auction, this auction will go forward," Norwine was quoted by CBS as saying. "After the auction we'll determine what happens. We will continue to take the high road.”

Gomez did not elaborate. But John O'Quinn, Arthur's lawyer, told reporters Birkhead and his client had agreed to meet privately on Saturday in an apparent bid to reach an agreement over custody of the child. Without any lawyers present, O'Quinn said the father and grandmother of Dannielynn would try "to figure out what they believe is in the best interest of this child and try to get it done." Whatever plan they come up with would then be submitted for court approval, O'Quinn said.

Geri's tales feature a nine-year-old girl who bears a striking resemblance to her creator, as well as a princess called Posh Vatoria.The series follows a school girl called Ugenia Lavender, who shares Geri's red hair and striking blue eyes, and has a talent for solving mysteries. She describes Ugenia as "flawed, demanding and obnoxious" but adds that she"cares about the world she lives in". Posh Vatoria, created with Victoria's blessing, intimidates the flame-haired heroine in one story by arriving at a party in a limousine. Geri said: "She was very flattered and I hope she is going to read the books to her boys. I have only cast people if it is authentic to the story. Idon't know if the other Spice Girls will be in there."Geri, 34, started writing the book while pregnant with 11-month-old daughter Bluebell Madonna. Her decision to follow the path of other star children's authors Madonna and Will Smith doesn't signal the end of Geri's music career though. Publicist Donna Jung said the singer died Saturday morning of heart failure. He had suffered with heart problems for the past several years, and had a pacemaker installed last fall. In 2005, he underwent an experimental stem cell procedure on his ailing heart in Thailand in 2005. Ho entertained Hollywood's biggest stars and thousands of tourists for four decades. For many, no trip to Hawaii was complete without seeing his Waikiki show — a mix of songs, jokes, double entendres, Hawaii history and audience participation. Shows usually started and ended with the same song, "Tiny Bubbles," which Ho mostly hummed as the audience enthusiastically took over. "I hate that song," he often joked to the crowd, adding that he saved it for the end because "people my age can't remember if we did it or not." ACTOR ROSCOE LEE BROWN DIES AT 81

Roscoe Lee Browne, 84, a film, television and stage actor died April 11th at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Cancer claimed his life. Once an amateur athlete, Browne was 35 when he commenced his career in acting. He developed quickly as an astute performer of the Bard and classic literature. He appeared with actors Cicely Tyson, Louis Gossett Jr. and James Earl Jones in Jean Genet's 1961 production of "The Blacks," an unflinching statement about colonialism that ran off-Broadway for many performances. Nominated for a Tony as best supporting actor during the 1992 Broadway run of August Wilson's "Two Trains Running," he was given greater exposure through film and television work. He appeared on the ABC sitcom "Soap" and twice played a man whose manner got the better of Carroll O'Connor's classic Archie Bunker in the comedy "All in the Family." An Emmy Award win in 1986 for a his guest starring role in the "The Cosby Show" and later made many appearances on numerous American sitcoms and series. He also appeared in "Uptown Saturday Night" (1974), starring and directed by Sidney Poitier. The Los Angeles Times reports that Browne, who was a minister's son, was born May 2, 1922, in Woodbury, N.J. He was a college track athlete too.

WITCH HUNT FOR 'GIRLS GONE WILD' FOUNDER JOE FRANCIS AS CHARGES KEEP PILING UP !

The multimillionaire founder of the racy "Girls Gone Wild" video series was indicted on tax evasion charges on Wednesday -- a day after being arrested and jailed in Florida for contempt of court. Joe Francis, 34, was indicted by a grand jury in Reno, Nevada, on charges of deducting more than $20 million in false business expenses on the 2002 and 2003 corporate income tax returns of his California-based Mantra Films Inc. and Nevada-based Sands Media Inc. Francis, who has built a $100 million business from selling videos of young women exposing their breasts, faces up to 10 years in prison and $500,000 in fines if convicted, the Department of Justice said. The indictment was returned a day after Francis was taken into custody in Panama City, Florida, for contempt of court over an outburst during negotiations on a civil lawsuit brought by seven women who said they were underage when they were filmed by his company in 2003.Francis' arrest and his indictment on tax evasion charges were the latest legal moves against the man whose videos depict drunk young women getting naked and sometimes performing sex acts on each other during spring break parties. In January, Francis was fined $500,000 in Los Angeles and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service for including footage of two 17-year-old girls engaging in explicit sex acts in a 2002 video. Mantra produces about 80 "Girls Gone Wild" DVDs a year and is expanding to the United Kingdom, Australia and France. Francis last month announced he was planning a restaurant chain and a line of swimwear and casual wear under the name. Meanwhile Francis was also charged Thursday with bribing a jail guard for a bottle of water and having prescription sleeping pills in his cell, authorities said. When he learned of the new charges, Joe Francis waived his right to a bond hearing for the contempt of court charge that had led to his being jailed. Francis cried as his mother blew him a kiss while he was led from a federal court room back to his cell. "I didn't do anything," he told his parents as he was led away, The News Herald of Panama City reported. Francis, 34, was charged with bribing a public servant, three counts of possessing a controlled substance and five counts of introducing contraband - cash and drugs - into a detention facility. The charges are third-degree felonies punishable by up to five years in prison. Francis offered a jail guard $100 for a bottled water Wednesday evening, court records said. When the guard refused, Francis showed him $500, investigators said. Inmates are not allowed to have cash in the jail. When supervisors searched Francis' cell, they found 16 prescription pills, including the sleeping medication Lunesta and the anti-anxiety pill lorazepam, according to court records.
