R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles has sparked reports she is planning a move to boyfriend Jay-Z's Def Jam label, so that he can help to oversee her career.The singer is currently signed to Sony's Columbia imprint, but with her contract due to expire after her next two albums, Knowles is reportedly looking to make a move to Island Def Jam so she can team up with Jay-Z in a professional capacity.An industry source tells Page Six, "Jay-Z has been trying to get her to Def Jam for a while. He would love to oversee her career -- he kind of does anyway."But the insider warns that Sony will not let Knowles go without a fight, adding, "Sony has had a bad year -- all the hit acts, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and the 'American Idol' kids, are all on BMG. "They can't afford to lose Beyonce. They'll probably mortgage the farm to keep her. Which means a lot more money for Beyonce -- and Jay-Z if they get married." Representatives for Sony, Knowles and Jay-Z have yet to comment.

Jay-Z could be fired as the CEO of Def Jam records after making huge pay demands.The rapper - who was hired by L.A. Reid, the chairman of Island/Def Jam, two years ago - has his contract up for renewal this year.But bosses have baulked at his outrageous cash demands. A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Jay is asking for several million as a base salary plus big bonus 'bumps' on records that do well. Reid isn't going for it. They're miles apart."Since taking the position Jay-Z has invigorated the company by signing a host on young artists, including Rihanna and Ne-Yo, while his own album 'Kingdom Come' has been a huge worldwide success. Insiders claim Reid is questioning how much time the rapper can devote to the label now he has come out of his own self-imposed music retirement and is touring again. The singer's other time-consuming business interests include his chain of 40/40 nightclubs and stakes in clothing label Rocawear, the New Jersey Nets basketball team and a Champagne concern. Reid is also rumored to be jealous of the attention and respect the rapper receives. A source said: "When Jay walks into a meeting, he sucks the air out of the room."Even without trying. At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame awards, Jay and L.A. were sitting at the same table. But it was like L.A. was invisible."However, Reid denies there is any friction between him and Jay-Z. He said: "We really love Jay. He's so important to our company, there's not much we wouldn't do to keep him here, money being the least of them."People at other labels may wish there was trouble. Beyoncé Knowles is embarrassed by her wealth.The singer-turned-actress has earned millions during her hugely successful career but admits she isn't comfortable being super-rich. Beyoncé, who is reported to have made around $16 million last year alone, told Pride magazine: "I never imagined I would be so blessed. I just wanted to be financially stable and it embarrasses me. I don't feel comfortable talking or thinking about it. I'm not a flashy girl, and I don't flaunt it."Meanwhile, Beyoncé's long-term lover Jay-Z has made himself even richer this week.The rap mogul is selling his clothing company Rocawear to the Iconix Brand Group for a whopping $204 million. Although Jay-Z is selling the company, he will remain in charge of all product development, marketing and licensing for the fashion business, which reportedly has annual retail sales in excess of $700 million. Jay-Z said: "Iconix is pioneering a new brand management model and by combining Rocawear with their platform, my team and I can focus on our strengths in design and lifestyle."

One music industry insider said: "He is supposed to be focused on his label - not outside deals."The rapper's publicist confirmed the date of the re-launch but claims not to know how much money is involved. As well as being one of the most successful hip-hop artists of all time, Jay-Z is CEO of Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella Records. He also owns The 40/40 Club - a chain of sports bars in the US - and is part owner of the New York Nets NBA team.

Beyoncé rushed back to the New York store the next day and bought the dress in white without even trying it on. A source told the New York Post newspaper: "The staff were so sweet, gracious and soft-spoken. This dress could easily be worn as a wedding gown."Meanwhile, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been house hunting.The couple looked at several properties in the Dominican Republic during a recent trip, including Oscar de la Renta's Casa de Campo - a gated community featuring private beaches, four private golf courses, three polo fields,clay tennis courts and 20 swimming pools. Properties in the private estate range from $3-6 million. It was reported that the couple were planning a Caribbean wedding last December.The couple were over heard talking about a special "four-day" celebration on a yacht off the Caribbean island of St. Barts to mark Jay-Z's 37th birthday. JAY Z BEING EVICTED FROM APARTMENT

Hip-hop heavyweight Jay-Z is going to be evicted by the owner of his $27 million luxury New York City apartment. The rapper -- real name Shawn Carter -- has been paying $40,000 a month to rent the four bedroom pad in the exclusive Time Warner Center in Columbus circle since September 2005. But owner, telecom boss Michael Hirtenstein, is selling it -- intending to make a huge profit on the $15.7 million he paid for the apartment in 2004 -- reports the New York Post. Jay-Z will struggle to find a new home to match the criteria his current pad boasts -- as well as a private terrace and its own library, it has a telescopic view of his girlfriend Beyonce Knowles' apartment across Central Park. According to reports, the rap boss is planning to move straight into a $6.85 million penthouse he has been renovating for the last two years in the TriBeCa district.
