Suri Cruise celebrated her first birthday in Louisiana the other day.Tom Cruise and his daughter flew to Shreveport, where his wife Katie Holmes is filming 'Mad Money', so the family could spend the milestone birthday together. A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Katie is already down there and Tom and Suri will be flying in. Katie, who is starring alongside Queen Latifa and Diane Keaton in the heist comedy, is said to have moved into an exclusive part of Shreveport while the movie is being filmed. She isn't the first Hollywood star to spend time in Shreveport - former couple Jude Law and Sienna Miller were also seen relaxing there recently. Meanwhile, Brooke Shields' daughter Grier also celebrated her first birthday the other day. Brooke originally wanted Grier and Suri to have a joint birthday party because they were born in the same hospital on the same day.The actress told Access Hollywood: "It's gone by so quickly. We're going to have a party this weekend."Grier will be treated to a Tweety Bird (Tweety Pie) themed party because Brooke says the cartoon character is similar to her daughter.

KATIE HOLMES CALLS POLICE ON PHOTOGRAPHERS

Actress Katie Holmes was forced to call the police during a recent shopping trip in Shreveport, La., after she found herself targeted by paparazzi. Holmes, who is in town to shoot the comedy "Mad Money," spotted the photographers trailing her last Thursday, and asked for local police help. The authorities escorted the actress inside a Target store and then acted as her bodyguards as shopped. A spokesman for Holmes tells Us Weekly magazine, "The (film) production office gave Katie the name of the chief of police and told her to call if she felt she needed it."

Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes are to launch a children's clothing line.The pair, who have bonded over their love of fashion and motherhood, are planning to combine their skills and passions by designing their own range for children. A source told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "They are both really excited about this new project. Katie recently sketched out some designs for a party dress for Suri's first birthday and Victoria saw there was the potential there for the two of them to come up with some great designs."As they are both mothers who love fashion, it couldn't have been more ideal for them."Victoria, 32 - who is mother to sons Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, six, and Cruz,two - already has her own jeans and designer sunglasses range. Katie, 27, and husband Tom Cruise's daughter, Suri, will turn one next month. She said Tom wants her to take a break as he thinks it might be sending out the wrong message."He certainly doesn't have to worry about money and Katie is not on a budget - it seems he just doesn't want people thinking she is frivolous and all about shopping and money."Katie, 28, was reported to have spent a staggering $200,000 at Beverly Hills' department store Barneys during a recent visit. Katie Holmes has turned down a $2 million deal to star in the sequel to'Batman Begins'.The actress was expected to reprise her role as Rachel Dawes along side caped crusader Christian Bale for 'Batman: The Dark Knight' but has pulled out because of "scheduling conflicts". Rumors have already circulated that Katie has been replaced by 'Wedding Crashers' actress Rachel McAdams for the comic-book adventure, also starring Heath Ledger as The Joker. Katie has instead signed up to star along side Queen Latifah in the comedy 'Mad Money'. The movie - to be directed by Callie Khouri - follows three female janitors working at the Federal Reserve who plot a major heist.The former 'Dawson's Creek' actress' move into comedy is believed to be part of her plan to re-launch herself, following her career break to marry Tom Cruise and have their daughter, Suri. However, film insiders have suggested she has been struggling to find work because of her controversial conversion to her husband's Scientology faith. A source said: "Studios may be gun-shy if her new status as a tabloid fixture. And her expectations may be raised as the new Mrs Cruise. Stars of much bigger stature, including Meg Ryan and Demi Moore, have found it tough to regain their momentum after taking time off."
