LinkMadonna On Cross
Madonna wants to "be Jesus".The controversial singer - who infuriated Christian church leaders by performing while hung from a cross wearing a crown of thorns during her 'Confessions' world tour - wants to be worshipped as a spiritual leader. Madonna said in an interview with America's Sirius Satellite radio: "For me we all need to be Jesus in our time."Jesus' message was to love your neighbour as yourself, and there are people in need. I hope that people got that message."Of course some people thought, 'Oh, she's just being controversial, she's just getting on a cross and trying to piss people off,' but that wasn't my intention at all."I want to be like Gandhi and Martin Luther King and John Lennon - but I want to stay alive."The 48-year-old singer also said gay men relate to her better because she is such a strong woman. She said: "Gay men are perfect men for girls who are tough. They're not threatened by strong women, and they're usually very in touch with their feelings and pay attention to details. I've always had an affinity with gaymen."

Madonna Can't Decide On Nanny
Madonna is struggling to hire a nanny to help her care for her adopted son David Banda. The 'Hung Up' singer - who adopted the 15-month-old Malawian boy in October - has been interviewing candidates since Christmas but cannot find a nanny who will adhere to her strict rules which includes no television and no visitors. A source told Britain's Mail On Sunday newspaper: "Madonna has been interviewing people and has used her friends Stella McCartney and Gwyneth Paltrow, who both have children, to help her find a suitable employee. But she hasn't been able to find anyone."She is panicking a bit as she has yet to find someone who is prepared to adhere to her strict lifestyle."Madonna doesn't believe in television. Whoever gets the job has also been warned they will be working flat out for the first three months and won't be allowed any visitors."The 48-year-old singer - who splits her time between London and Los Angeles - already has a host of minders to help her look after her daughter, ten-year-old Lourdes, and son Rocco, six. The job is said to be well paid but the nanny will be expected to live in a single room of Madonna's London townhouse, and, as her children aren't allowed to watch TV, they will not be allowed to own a television.

Madonna
Madonna offered to pay for Manjolo's tuition fees when she was told the Malawian government needed more trained social welfare officers. Adrina Mchiela, principal secretary for Malawi's Ministry for Gender and Child Welfare, said: "She asked us whether we had any problems and we saw our chance. We told her the ministry lacked trained personnel and asked if she could help. "Madonna indicated a willingness to sponsor more officers. We just need to inform her of our need."Manjolo, 40, started a social work degree at Swansea University, in Wales, last September, a month before Madonna and David left Malawi. Manjolo insists he was not involved in Madonna's adoption case and has never met the singer, adding: "It is unfortunate if people use their wealth to manipulate events, but I don't think it happened in this case. Her application was considered on merit. I have been trying to do this course since 1984 but funding was a problem. It was only last August that I was told the money had finally been sourced. This course will help my department to develop a policy to encourage Malawians to adopt Malawians."Madonna has so far failed to comment on the matter.
