ELIZABETH HURLEY HAS SUPPRISE WEDDING

The Grounds Of Sydeley Castle

A posse of photographers and scores of spectators descended Saturday on a quiet town in western England where actress Elizabeth Hurley reportedly is to marry her fiance. Media reports said Hurley, 41, and businessman Arun Nayar, 42, would tie the knot at Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, 125 miles west of London, in front of guests including Elton John, Kate Moss and Hurley's ex, Hugh Grant. The Daily Mirror newspaper, however, reported that the pair had married Friday in front of two witnesses, and Saturday's ceremony would be a celebration of the nuptials. Security guards on Saturday patrolled the grounds of the 15th-century castle. A large tent had been erected in the grounds, and a covered walkway led from the gardens to the building. Hurley and Nayar reportedly have signed a lucrative deal with Hello! magazine for exclusive rights to images of the event. According to reports, the couple will fly to India for celebrations in Mumbai and Rajasthan next week. People in the Cotswolds town of Winchcombe cashed in yesterday as Liz Hurley celebrated her wedding to Indian businessman Arun Nayar at Sudeley Castle, Gloucestershire. Members of the toddler and baby club dressed up as brides to sell cakes in the high street. Shops put up balloons and signs to wish the newlyweds well. Security guards surrounded a marquee in the castle's grounds as celebrities, including Sir Elton John and Donatella Versace, were expected to arrive. The couple fly to India this week to continue their celebrations. Hurley's spokesman has declined to comment on the wedding reports.
(We wonder why?)

ELIZABETH HURLEY READY FOR HER WEDDING IN SUDELEY CASTLE

Elizabeth Hurley is to serve a banquet inspired by English royalty at her wedding to Arun Nayar. The British actress-and-model, who is marrying Arun next month, has reportedly asked chefs at Gloucestershire's Sudeley Castle to prepare a meal inspired by cuisine served to King Henry VIII's sixth wife, Katherine Parr, when she lived there. Guests will be treated to roasted guinea fowl with sage and champagne jus, followed by summer fruit brulée or pears poached in wine for desert all washed down with Verve Cliquot Champagne. A source said: "It's a very medieval menu, in keeping with the castle. Liz wants the food to match the history of the venue so there will be nothing modern on the menu."Katherine, whose tomb is located in the castle church, regularly dined on deer that roamed wild on the estate. Liz, 41, and Indian businessman Arun's extended wedding celebrations start with an English ceremony at Sudeley Castle, followed by a traditional Indian wedding in Mumbai, which will feature an Indian banquet. Celebrities expected to attend the nuptials include Liz's close friend Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish, fashion designer Donatella Versace and Victoria Beckham.
