Halle Berry contemplated suicide after her first marriage imploded.The 40-year-old actress, who was devastated when her marriage to baseball player David Justice collapsed in 1996, only changed her mind after thinking of the effect it would have on her mother. She told Parade magazine: "I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming, when I had an image of my mother finding me. She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do."It was all about a relationship. My sense of worth was so low. I had tore-program myself to see the good in me. Because someone didn't love me didn't mean I was unlovable. I promised myself I would never be a coward again."Halle received therapy after the incident and went on to marry musician Eric Benet in 2001. The couple divorced in 2005. The Oscar-winning actress, who is now dating model Gabriel Aubry, has revealed she is desperate to start a family. Halle said: "Now my sights are set on a different chapter in my life, which is motherhood. That's the goal I have very clearly set for myself."

BRAD DELP SUICIDE : I AM A LONELY SOUL !

Brad Delp, the lead singer for the band Boston who killed himself last week, left behind a note in which he called himself "a lonely soul," according to police reports released Thursday. The note was paper-clipped to the neck of Delp's shirt when police found his body at his Atkinson home, on the bathroom floor, his head on a pillow. He had sealed himself inside with two charcoal grills; toxicology tests showed he had committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. "Mr. Brad Delp. J'ai une ame solitaire. I am a lonely soul," the note read. Delp joined Boston in the mid-1970s and sang two of its biggest hits, "More than a Feeling" and "Long Time." He was cremated Wednesday, after a private funeral earlier in the week.His fiancee, Pamela Sullivan, called police March 9 after noticing a dryer vent tube connected to the exhaust pipe of Delp's car. In the garage, police found a note taped to the door leading into the house. "To whoever finds this I have hopefully committed suicide. Plan B was to asphyxiate myself in my car." In another note on a door at the top of the stairs, Delp cautioned that there was carbon monoxide inside. "I take complete and sole responsibility for my present situation. I have lost my desire to live," he wrote. The note also included instructions on how to contact his fiancee: "Unfortunately she is totally unaware of what I have done." Police later found four sealed letters in an office addressed to Sullivan, his children, their mother, Micki Delp, and another couple whose identity was not disclosed. Police Lt. William Baldwin said police gave the letters to family members without reading them. Sullivan told police that Delp "had been depressed for some time, feeling emotional (and) bad about himself," according to the reports. He had planned to marry Sullivan this summer during a break in a tour with Boston. A lifelong Beatles fan, Delp also played with the tribute band Beatle Juice.

COMIC RICHARD JENI COMMITS SUICIDE

Stand-up comedian Richard Jeni, who was a frequent guest on the popular Tonight Show and appeared in several films, has died in an apparent suicide. Los Angeles police said a woman called on Saturday and reported her boyfriend had "just shot himself in the face". Police officers found Jeni, 49, alive but fatally wounded in a West Hollywood home. He died later in hospital. Police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman said suicide had not been officially confirmed. An autopsy is due on Monday. Jeni appeared in The Mask as Jim Carrey's best friend and had roles in several other films including The Aristocrats, Burn, Hollywood, Burn and National Lampoon's Dad's Week Off. He was a close friend of comedian Chris Rock, appearing in his sitcom Everybody Hates Chris and writing material for Rock's stint hosting the Oscars in 2005. But he was best known as a stand-up comedian, regularly playing to sold-out crowds at Hollywood's Laugh Factory. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he first came to attention in 1990 with a 30-minute showcase, Richard Jeni: The Boy From New York, on the US Showtime channel. He became a regular guest on The Tonight Show during Johnny Carson's reign as host and continued to appear after Jay Leno took over. Several of his comedy routines were captured for television, with 1992's Platypus Man winning a Cable ACE award for best stand-up comedy special and inspiring a short-lived TV series of the same name. Frazer Smith, a fellow comedian who often opened for Jeni, said younger acts looked up to him. "He was probably one of the best stand-up comedians in the last 50 years," said Smith. "He had tons and tons of material."

ANNA NICOLE SMITH TRIED SUICIDE TWICE

Anna Nicole Smith tried to commit suicide at least twice after she gave birth to Dannielynn last September, it has been claimed. In legal documents written by the late Playboy Playmate's former nanny, Quethlie Alexis, it is alleged Anna Nicole - real name Vickie Marshall -wanted to end her life. Alexis stated: "Ms Marshall attempted to commit suicide on two separate occasions."On the first occasion, she drank in my presence an entire bottle of what I believed to be a sleeping aid."When she awoke from the resulting 48-hour coma, she said, 'I wanted to die. I meant to kill myself.'"She also tried to drown herself in her swimming pool. Howard K. Stern rescued her. I heard him say to her, 'If anything happens to you, I would go to jail.' "The sworn affidavit, written in the Bahamas on December 4, 2006, also reveals Anna Nicole was obsessed with keeping her baby slim, because "she wanted her to be 'sexy' ". Alexis claimed: "Ms. Marshall was obsessed with making sure that her baby was 'sexy'. Ms. Marshall knew that the correct amount of baby food was 3 ounces every 3 hours. Ms. Marshall insisted that the maximum I was to give was 2.5 ounces."She monitored my feeding of Dannielynn by making sure the baby monitor was kept on all the time."The child is badly underweight and not thriving, as a baby should."A California judge withdrew his request to put a ten-day hold on Anna Nicole's body yesterday, meaning it may be released and buried, pending a corresponding ruling from a Florida court. A decision is expected in the next few days.

DREW BARRYMORE ATTEMPTED SUICIDE

Drew Barrymore claims she is a schizophrenic.The 'Music and Lyrics' actress - who experimented with cocaine by the age of 14, attempted to commit suicide at 15 and has been married twice - blames her turbulent life on the many different sides of her personality. She told Britain's Live magazine : "I am a yin and a yang Piscean. I'm an extremist, I'm a polarity. No wonder I'm a schizophrenic."Drew - who legally divorced her mother, Hungarian model Jaid Barrymore, at the age of 17 - insists she has managed to put many of her past demons behind her and finally make up with her mother. She said: "I felt I needed more support from her when I was younger. The intentions between us are good now - but the execution of those intentions is always a little tricky. But it's getting easier as I'm at that age where I can see the good things about my mother as well as the bad. I now hold her in high regard."
